Endorsement & Reputation
12.05.2023
It is our concern that more and more people get access to the community income. Since only a limited number of new users can join and you surely know people you would like to invite to Leu, there is the possibility to mark other users as trustworthy. This way they can directly participate in the project.
Only half as many new participants as already existing ones can join the meetings. This way we can not only ensure the authenticity of the people, but also that there are no fake user profiles that exploit the project. First of all, let's clarify some terminology. The Leu community knows 3 states of members:
Initiators ("Bootstrappers")
At the beginning of the project, 10 people were designated as bootstrappers to start the leu. The "bootstrappers" can attend a meeting at any time.
New people to Leu ("Newbies")
You are a newbie if you have never/not attended in a while, or if you sign up for a meeting and don't show up. If that happens to you, no problem, sign up for a leap of faith with people in the community.
Trustworthy people ("Reputable")
People who have attended an event are considered Reputable. In addition, if you go to your profile settings in the Encointer app, you can see how many times you have attended an event recently, called the attendance log.
Endorsement
An endorsement is when Leu participants with the status "Reputable" give new users a leap of faith. Loosely translated, it means that new participants are endorsed. "Reputables" can give a vote of confidence to two other people with the status "Newbie" per meeting. You will receive these two "tickets" every 10 days. Now you can give two "Endorsement Tickets" to every meeting, up to 48h before, and thus give a leap of faith to people you know. Thus their participation in the next meeting is secured.
